The Story Behind Our New Lower Prices.
My exacting and uncompromising standards for D3 were in danger of going extinct as market pressures to keep prices low has pushed the industry into corn oil! The hunt for a new source took me in an unexpected direction, making our own D3 oil directly from the raw crystals, which we had custom made to my exact specifications.
What you will learn in this article.
1- We have one of the only Vitamin D3 products not contaminated with corn.
2- Most companies selling D3 in MCT oil are now using a starting concentrate contaminated with corn oil, to keep their prices low.
3- Why corn oil is becoming nearly unavoidable in the D3 oil market.
4 - Why uncontaminated D3 concentrate is in short supply and has skyrocketed in price.
5- How we solved the problem, and lowered the price at the same time.
We have one of the only Vitamin D3 products not contaminated with corn! Over the last several years, we have had increasing trouble getting our raw concentrate in a, guaranteed uncontaminated, MCT oil base. To my horror, most all of the major producers have switched to a corn base for their oil concentrate, which I find beyond unacceptable.
Let me explain how the industry works for oil based D3. Vitamin D3 is initially manufactured into a crystalline form, this is then processed into an oil base concentrate, usually at 1 million i.u. per gram. All manufacturers then use this concentrate to make their retail products at 1000 i.u. or 5000 i.u. per drop liquids. The reason they use pre-manufactured oil concentrates is because the crystals are a little tricky to dissolve, and are impractical to use for large producers, so the D3 suppliers do it for them. Until now, we've sourced our D3 oil 1 million i.u. the same way as well. The world was a happy place and D3 in an MCT oil base was easy to find. Sure, it was high side of reasonably priced but you could get it from a few select sources. That's no longer the case.
The market trend over the last 5 years has moved to a corn oil base. Why? D3 dissolves easily in corn oil, and corn oil is cheaper. Making the overall cost of concentrate production low. So, as producers moved increasingly to corn oil, so to have retail companies to save money and keep their prices low. The supplement industry motto has become “Profit margin first. The quality of the base second.” This industry transition has made D3 in a pure MCT oil base very hard to find, and the prices are now very high, over 800% higher than when we first launched our Simply D3 oil.
I believe a large number of companies selling D3 in MCT oil are using a starting material that is contaminated with corn oil and simply don't disclose it.
To get around this problem, and get the exceptional quality I require, we had our own crystalline form of D3 specialty manufactured just for us, to my exacting specifications. Now we have our own 99.9% crystals in house, and we have bypassed the artificial shortage and their high prices. Because of our massive raw material reserve, we can now offer you an ultra clean, truly spectacular Vitamin D3 oil, at prices lower than ever before.
